Welcome to the home of ergosoftware
Your source for ergonomic software to prevent and
treat Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI), ergonomic-software
for Repetitive strain and stress injury! If you do not
often stretch at your computer or take work breaks there
is now OC software which will prompt you to do so, as
well as keeping track of the frequency you perform activities
such as clicking the mouse, or keyboard keystrokes.
Ergonomic software can:
1. Prompt users to take regular breaks (by visual
and audio prompts).
2. Display sample animation of exercises or movies
showing stretching options.
3. Record details of every action a user has enacted
on a computer as a log file.
4. Stop the computer from working for a period of
time after a specified number of key strokes or mouse-clicks
to enforce break periods.
5. RSI prevention, and more!
Take a vacation from your computer
Even with the right set up and proper work techniques,
do not think you can work 8-10 hours per day on your
computer and not be exposing your self to ergonomic
risks and potential injury.
Alternate activities by going to the copier and standing
to review documents or talk on the telephone.
Use a soft squeezy "stress-relief" device
such as a ball, cylinder or 2-ergo cell phone
Plan to make copies, do filing, make telephone calls
to break up continuous use of the computer.
Instead of sending an email to someone down the
hall, take a walk down to their office.
We all sit sometimes and some of us sit for hours a
day. The longer you sit the more important it is to
have a good chair that fits, to change position frequently
and get up occasionally.
Use an ergonomic chair properly - keep adjusting it!
If the chair has a variable tilt feature this is an
easy way for having the chair move with you. If it does
not, relieve the forces in the spine and on the tissues
by changing the settings throughout the day.
Get out of your chair . . . Standing for just 30 seconds
provides relief for the tissues of the back and helps
to restore circulation. Adding some neck rolls, reaching
toward the ceiling with the arms while standing is an
very effective way to dispel the stresses of sitting.
Incorporate an exercise routine into your daily schedule
. . . Walking, bicycling, swimming, yoga and many other activities
can help relieve the stress of daily computer use.
